Milan show solidarity with Valencia’s Diakhaby and Tottenham’s Sanchez after racism incidents

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have expressed their solidarity with Tottenham defender Davinson Sanchez and Valencia’s Mouctar Diakhaby after the incidents over the weekend.

On Sunday night, Valencia’s players chose to leave the pitch claiming Diakhaby was racially abused by Cadiz’s Juan Cala, which left the defender visibly upset and angry causing him to pursue the striker. Valencia then came out and continued the match after a team meeting, pledging to fight for the honour of the club and Diakhaby.

Meanwhile, Spurs centre-back Sanchez was the subject of racial abuse on social media after their 2-2 draw with Newcastle United. The Colombia international posted a screenshot of the disgusting messages he received on his Instagram account, with the caption: “Nothing changes.”

Milan responded to the incidents on social media, publishing a tweet with the following statement…

We are saddened to hear of yet more racist incidents shaking the world of football. We stand with @daosanchez26, @SpursOfficial, @Diakhaby_5 and @valenciacf. Together, we must keep on fighting to build awareness in the name of tolerance and inclusivity. #WeRespAct.”

  1. This is disgraceful. These so called people are a disgrace to humanity. What is the difference between whites, blacks and any other gender.
All we not all Gods children. Grow up and make this world a better place to live in together.

On another note the sooner we get rid of Sanchez the better. He is being awful in his games.
