Vitiello: Another ‘ritiro’ – Milan squad have ‘decided it’s right’ to train alone again ahead of Cagliari

This week, AC Milan will prepare for the biggest game of their season and they have made a decision as a squad regarding training.

It has already been said enough how big this game is for Milan. Both in the current day and the future, there is so much resting on the next 90 minutes of club football. It could result in another reset,  perhaps more extreme than last summer. Alternatively, it could be a chance to strengthen.

Unfortunately, planning can not begin for either situation yet. As we know, the Rossoneri have a habit of not making it simple.

Another ritiro

Considering how much is on the line, the training schedule must be right and Massimiliano Allegri, along with the squad, has designed a new plan, which Antonio Vitiello revealed this afternoon.

“The schedule is as follows: tomorrow there will be a double training session, Thursday a day off, and on Friday they will meet again at the Carnago training centre for the training camp.

“The team has decided it’s right to isolate themselves again to best prepare for the final and most important match of the season: a win against Cagliari on Sunday evening will mathematically qualify the Rossoneri for next season’s Champions League.

“It’s a situation the players have accepted willingly, in fact. The impetus for a new retreat came directly from them.”

Indeed, Adrien Rabiot admitted that the ritiro helped them prepare for the win against Genoa, so it will be used again.
