There has been speculation that Mattia Caldara’s loan spell with Venezia could be ended early and he may rejoin AC Milan to provide cover for the injured Simon Kjaer, but it is reportedly wide of the mark.
MilanNews reports that Caldara is regaining confidence and is enjoying some consistent playing time in his most recent loan spell, but a return to his parent club Milan in January is not in the plans of the management, just like can be said for Yacine Adli who is currently at Bordeaux.
However, Milan are convinced that they want to take on a new central defender to cover for Kjaer and there are currently several reflections underway on who the right profile will be, but it all depends on the budget that will be made available by Elliott Management and the path that is chosen.
One thing seems certain though and that is that Paolo Zanetti’s Venezia can enjoy the services of Caldara at least until the end of the season, while remembering that they have an option to buy him outright too.
