Milan star Kessie issues definitive response to Liverpool links: “I want to stay forever”

By Isak Möller -

Franck Kessie’s contract will expire in 2022 and Milan are currently working on a renewal to keep their star. Inevitably, there have been some rumours about an exit but the midfielder has put an end to that himself.

Just yesterday, Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) reported that Liverpool are keeping tabs on the situation, should Milan fail to convince the midfielder. However, it seems the latter won’t be an issue at all for them.

In an interview with Gazzetta Dello Sport, as cited by MilanNews, Kessie was asked about the future and made his intentions very clear. If it was up to him, he would stay at the club forever. Strong and clear comments.

“I’m proud to have chosen Milan and my intention isn’t to leave. On the contrary, I want to stay forever. Now I have the Olympics, but when I come back I will fix everything. I just want Milan, Maldini and Massara know my thinking. I like it so much when the ultras sing ‘one President, there is only one President’. Well, I want to be one for life. At least in football,” he stated.

It’s certainly reassuring for the Rossoneri fans as there have been conflicting reports on the matter recently, with some suggesting that his demands are very high. The truth seems to be that the parties will continue together.
