AC Milan are continuing to suffer financially from the Divock Origi transfer, completed in the 2022 summer transfer window.
As MilanNews write, Origi to Milan ‘can be considered one of the worst transfer operations in the recent history of European football’, with the Belgian still under contract with the Rossoneri but totally out of the club’s plans.
Fode Ballo-Touré is also out of the senior squad but he has at least been used in Serie C this season, yet the former Liverpool player isn’t even in training every day and is instead completely excluded from club activities.
Origi is a ‘separated man at home’ who doesn’t want to leave the generous contract he signed in the summer of 2022 until June 2026, worth about €4m net per year and putting him among Milan’s highest earners.
First a loan to Nottingham Forest went badly, then in the summer there was an attempt to reach a mutual termination of the contract. However, Origi is putting up a wall in every way and there don’t seem to be any signs of openness towards a solution that would take him away from Milan.
Of course there is some blame attached to the management for awarding such a rich deal, but questions have to be asked about why the player doesn’t want to find a scenario that would allow him to play again, beyond the salary.
Needed to distract from the mess current management have us under or…?
Racun saja kalo gak mau pindah
ACM choose this mediocre player over kolo muani that only demand 2m euro nett at that time because his stupid experience winning CL as last choice striker in liverpool. Just pay him all his contract and asking him to clean san siro toilet
Why not we play him? We need number 9 right ?
LOL.
Maybe under Sergio (Mendes),he will have a resurgence.
We can’t, we have registered max amount of foreign players in the main team, both for serie a and champions league.
And yet if it is an Italian player who has always been here for the club they don’t even want to give him even 3mil deal. But 3rd choise striker easily gets 4mil if he is a diversity hire. No doubt Origi wont leave, he dosen’t care for the club and he knows only americans with their idiotic ideologies would give him such a high deal.
You do know Maldini is the one who pushed for him, right?
Nope, Maldini wanted Scamacca.
They always have an excuse for Maldini no matter what. All of the good signings were Maldini’s and all of the bad ones were somebody else’s fault. I think I saw him walking on water the other day.
Lol don’t you have anything better to do in life than just hating on Milan and its legends every day on this page?
😃😃… once a legend, always a Saint. I’m not surprised people will defend Maldini till death on whatever though.
Acmilan we are the cause of our problem we need attacking midfielder yet we are not doing anything about it and the useless Acmilan management always want results this is nonsense.
5.24 Million Euro gross salary for 4 years; that’s 21 Million Euro; a grand total of 3 goal contributions for Milan; two goals, one assist. So this guy cost us 7 million Euro for each goal contribution. This qualifies as the worst deal ever in all of European football.
And yes, that’s on Paolo Maldini. I love and respect him for many reasons but I’m not blind and I do acknowledge the parts where Paolo committed blunders. And it’s not just Origi; there’s also Ballo, and his last Mercato he hired like 12 players and only Thiaw wasn’t a bust. Yeah, yeah, in the past he gave us Theo and Rafa, etc. But no, one can’t fail to realize that his tenure as manager was mixed, with ups and downs. Praise him for the ups but acknowledge the downs.
Origi evidently has NO INTEREST in continuing his football career. Likely he knows that he sucks and no club will want him; at least, not for a fraction of what Milan pays him. So, he’s happy to be a young millionaire in one of the best cities in Europe, not needing to work. When his contract is over he will likely retire and live of investments from his accumulated millions.
Maldini has caused us dearly by bringing origi. Now we are doing the same mistake by letting kalulu to our most rival. Mean while Ac Milan defense is not that strong How………??.
Origi is doing nothing wrong, any attempt at scapegoating is pretty sinister behaviour to be honest.
He’s turned up when asked, even for junior teams, he’s never spoken badly about the club in public… We’ve never even given him a proper pre-season, just used blunt tactics to try and force him to leave.
If he is happy living in Milan on gardening leave imposed by the club on a salary they agreed to pay him, then fair play to him and his family.
Very well put. Origi helped us win the Champions League. He is a great lad. ACM should utilize him for the remainder of the contract or negotiate with him for an amicable exit.
“One of the worst transfer operations in European football of recent years…”
Hmmm, have the writers of MilanNews heard about Chelsea, Man U, or the premiership in general. Also, simple math shows we lost more money in letting Dollarumr go for free than hiring useless Origi
“So, he’s happy to be a young millionaire in one of the best cities in Europe, not needing to work. When his contract is over he will likely retire and live of investments from his accumulated millions.”

This summarizes the whole thing. The guy is in an extremely comfortable, even ideal situation, why he would make any kind of effort to change it? Deep down the SOB is right…
“questions have to be asked about why the player doesn’t want to find a scenario that would allow him to play again, beyond the salary”
Because he’s lazy and some idiot at Milan gave him the winning lottery ticket to a rich and comfortable retirement
CDK wasn’t bust from that same mercato. He has shown since that he could have been great at Milan. Had we given him time and the right coaching setup.
You can’t tell me he wouldn’t be doing a better job leading our line at the moment instead of Morata. Even though he isn’t true 9.
That was meant to be a reply to @Luigi
While we are flogging dead horses, can we flog the dumbass who knew about Origi and still signed Emerson? how much was his transfer worth? and his wages and whats his resell value now? which agent or staff got a cut from his transfer as there is more to it than meets the eye?
which idiot extended jovic’s contract, gave him #9, left him out of squad lists and is now trying to offload the guy?
Last i heard CDK for whom maldini was strung high up won a Europa league trophy. his replacement twists his ankle on a goalmouth scramble, and cant score to save his life except the ball is 10cm from the goal line?
The Origi is a blame from the management and the coaches not the player. Instead they have to play him like Liverpool, because he is not an animal or machine but a player like any otherplayer. Origi get scoring qualities some attackers in Milan doesn’t have.
Give Origi to any of rivals in Serie a,he’ll beat us always.
AC MILAN is poor seeing their academy products instead the scout players who cannot run after the ball,so spend more money in versatile players like other European clubs.
@rossi dont mind the idiot K he has to be the most stupid milan fan here
