Romano: Milan still pushing for Spurs defender – Nottingham Forest not close to agreement

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are still leading the race to sign Japhet Tanganga from Tottenham but face competition from Nottingham Forest, a report claims.

After Alessio Romagnoli left for Lazio on a free transfer and with Simon Kjaer making a gradual return after being out for eight months after knee ligament surgery, it is no surprise that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are in the market to sign a centre-back.

Tanganga is a name that was linked back in the January window as a potential loan option and resurfaced again earlier in the summer before going quiet again. Now, however, it seems as though the Rossoneri have settled on their man.

Nottingham Forest have come forward to rival Milan, but according to Fabrizio Romano they are not close to an agreement with Spurs for Tanganga as things stand.

He adds that it will take time as ‘Milan are still pushing to sign him’, suggesting that the Serie A champions still have the edge at the moment.
