In doing so, Gerry Cardinale, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Massimo Calvelli (the acting CEO) have been establishing contacts with several international figures, including the Conference League winner Oliver Glasner and the recently-sacked Liverpool boss Arne Slot.

Glasner vs. Slot?

The latest news concerns an initial, concrete approach to Oliver Glasner. The former Crystal Palace head coach – a name endorsed by Ralf Rangnick – is confirmed as one of the very first names on the club’s wish list.

The club have made initial contacts to gauge the Austrian’s availability and the feasibility of the deal At the same time, Milan are also keeping the Slot idea alive. The former Feyenoord manager’s profile hasn’t lost any steam and is being evaluated alongside that of Glasner.

The Dutchman is currently deciding whether to jump straight into a new job after his dismissal from Liverpool. His arrival at Milan isn’t out of the question, especially given his impressive résumé prior to last season at Anfield.

      1. He invested about 30 mil in redbird not even Milan and Milan is a club worth over 1 billion, I m aware that the money he gave to Gerry is the only reason he is still around but sooner or later Gerry will have to get rid of him because he loves money and listening to Zlatan will cost him more money. 2 years missing ucl 2 failed coaches let’s not forget Fonseca and Royal who were Ibra ideas. If Ragnick comes I think Ibra will become irrelevant and just some brand image ambassador.

  1. Getting slot over Glasner will be moving in circles, it will be an absurd choice, but when have we not had the management making absurd choices?

    1. I like Glasner, but his style is not very suitable for low blocks. He thrives in the Premier League and Bundesliga, and with Crystal Palace, because he can play counter attacking, direct football. Milan rarely get to do this in Serie A, because most Italian teams stand so deep. We saw how difficult it was for Allegri to figure this out as well, so I would actually argue that Glanser would be more like moving in circles.

Arne Slot, on the other hand, is from the Dutch possession school. Heavily inspired by Guardiola. That would be much more effective for Milan in Serie A, where it has been a struggle to create chances for a while.

  2. I don’t say this light hire Antonio Conte they have no long term ideas despite pretending they do he will achieve the required immediate top 4 (maybe even the league) raise player valuations every common sense goal for this bad ownership 2 year deal second season mutual option
