AC Milan have not had a good last 48 hours when it comes to pursuing defensive targets, with Guela Doue now an uphill battle too.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Archie Brown blow is followed by another worrying development, which is the increasingly difficult pursuit of Guéla Doué. Milan’s full-back market is now ‘very complicated’, and just over a month until the first game of the season in the cup against Bari.

Strasbourg are continuing to ask for a high sum to part with Doué, the brother of PSG star Desiré, and the chances of a move are slim. He’s not out of reach, but he’s certainly still far away from joining the Rossoneri, who offered €15m and were asked for double that.
It’s a difficult gap to bridge, which could lead Giorgio Furlani and Igli Tare to focus on Almeria’s Marc Pubill despite Doue’s will. The team have been working in preseason for a week, and even the management are not losing their cool, they need players to give to the new coach.
After the Modric signing and the Ricci deal being finalised, the Rossoneri hoped it would be easier to find a replacement for Theo Hernandez. Instead, Brown has vanished, and now on the right side Doue also seems far away. A turnaround is needed.

Useless management.
Why useless? I’m happy they didn’t push more for Archie Brown, guy is a random noname without guarantees.
They offered 15-18mil for Doue, because he should be worth around that. They want 30mil for him just because of his brothers name, and fact that Milan just sold Theo. It’s good step not to overpay, just because.
Start thinking more broader, not just hating.
As I have said how do you replace a certified French international, a Milan record holder in his position (same position as Maldini) and replace him with a €8m signing from the Belgium league.
We need a real left back with am extremely high ceiling, Theo went for €25m we should be adding €10m to that or what is the point, how have we moved forward
Theo wasn’t “a real left back” when he first arrived.
He was also another young player with potential just like leao, tonali, etc.
Raul Bellanova then.
I would love to welcome him back
Ditto. In a heartbeat.
For €35m we could get Cambiasso and sign him to 8 year contract, and that would be the best financially (amortisation) and in the pitch
Things need to get done faster!
It’s ideal that players come before the preseason
and we need a RB, LB, DM/AM, apparently another striker and if they are looking for changing CB
things have to get done quicker.
We’ve missed out on Brown, who is a solid player and was available for just 8m.
There are too many positions to fill in such a short time.
How exactly can you say that he is solid? Sorry but he is a random foreigner from weak league, that played there just 2 full seasons. It’s literally a huge gamble, not a solid player.
You could say “solid” about someone playing for years in Serie A, proven in that league and environment.
Useless and stingy management. So 25m for Dodo is too much. Keep looking for useless players like Emerson Royal, you will keep wasting your money till you’ll understand buying quality is better than buying quantity. Who among the players you’ve bidded so far is better than Dodo… Stingy management, it’s very clear that the reason you appoint Tare was for him to sign useless players
In transfermarket his value is around 18m€… if we pay 16 + 3 in bonuses, it must be okey.. they buy him last year for 6m€ , and now they want 30m€… its too much .. rather then we should try Zinchenko , experienced defender for 20m€ , but its Arsenal, 15m€ + 5m€ in bonuses and we are okay 👍
Hahahahahaha!!
The club wants 30M and we offered 18M
Ya I’m sure this one will get done really fast!
Send the private JET Georgio – that will convince him I’m positive!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Milan’s mercato situation is very concerning. We are definitely poor negotiators. We sell for too little (could have earned more for Reijnders) and we are too tentative and slow in the incoming market.
We will probably get to the season with blatant holes and then last day of the mercato we will panic and sign some mediocre fifth option players left over because no other team will want them.
When a third string, unproven player like Brown prefers Fenerbahce to AC Milan, we know that our prestige is down the drains. No wonder. With our confused and incompetent management, who would want to play for us?
Reijnders rejected Barcelona to sign for Milan, does that mean their prestige is down the drain?
I wrote yesterday that Strasbourg would asked about this price because cooperation with Chelsea. I still can’t understand Mr Tare why he can’t fully focus on real goal and talented player as Marc Pubill. let’s go for Marc Pubill. Nelson Semedo is also free agent. When we will buy two guys on this position so Alex Jimenez could be use as the winger.
