MN: Milan’s strategy for January including why Ziyech is ‘not in the plans’

AC Milan are once again expected to remain fairly quiet in the January transfer window unless big opportunities arise, it is claimed.

According to a report from Pietro Mazzara in his column for MilanNews, the January market ‘will not hold big surprises unless huge opportunities arise’, which is fairly consistent with the stance the club have taken over the past three years.

Hakim Ziyech keeps being mentioned given that he is a protagonist with Morocco at the World Cup, but he ‘is not in the plans’ of the Rossoneri despite the transfer links during the summer.

The obstacles are the same as the previous transfer window, because Milan ‘cannot think of giving 8 million to a player who is so strong, but who has a limited future’, referring to the fact that he is 29 years of age.

Instead, Milan will try to thin out the squad a bit, but regarding Yacine Adli it depends on the will of the playmaker and Tiemoue Bakayoko seems strongly intent on staying until June, even at the cost of continuing to be a regular substitute.
