AC Milan must find a way to function without Sandro Tonali tonight as he will serve a one-match suspension in the Coppa Italia semi-final first leg against Inter.
TMW write how Milan’s head coach Stefano Pioli addressed reporters during yesterday’s pre-match press conference about the absence of the Italian. “We have the alternatives to replace him in the best possible way,” he declared.
In tonight’s derby it will almost certainly be up to the double pivot of Bennacer and Kessie to try and take control of the midfield against an Inter side who will probably see their midfield as a big strength.
After a season of growth, Tonali has become a leader of the Rossoneri have has made 34 total appearances with 2 goals and 3 assists to his name. For Milan it will be almost a novelty to play without him, given he has missed just one game.
The one that he missed was the 2-1 defeat against Spezia on the night of referee Serra’s mistake, but it was also an underwhelming performance where neither midfielder really stepped up in the absence of the former Brescia man.
No worries,we have fake presidente,he runs like my grandpa this year
He’ll play a vital role in the second leg so he deserves all the rest he can get
probably good we just escaped a draw without him……maybe our saving grace for the fact he will be rested and key to a win over Napoli, seems like every week the games are a must win for the three leaders, we just need to get on a roll, this weekend will decide the Scudetto
Bennacer is not weaker than Tonali. Pioli must find a solution which can make them play together. Definitely not as a double pivot for them.
