Telegraph: Man Utd’s pursuit of €35m man complicating Milan’s hopes of re-signing defender

AC Milan are interested in re-signing Diogo Dalot but there is still a chance that he could remain at Manchester United, according to a report.

The Telegraph reports that United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to continue building a strong English core at Old Trafford and believes that Kieran Trippier is the right man to become the new starting right-back at a club where he would join compatriots Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Dean Henderson and Mason Greenwood among others.

However, Atletico Madrid are asking for £30m (€35m) for Trippier which is causing United to reflect, given Wan-Bissaka was a £50m signing from Crystal Palace in 2019. Despite this, they still think the latter requires improvement and the management feel he could benefit in the long-term from Trippier’s presence.

Milan are interested in signing Dalot on loan for another season, but the report mentions how there is a chance the Portugal international could stay if Trippier does not join.
