AC Milan were hoping that the weekend would see them reopen the Scudetto race, but now they are right in the thick of the top four battle.
As Calcio e Finanza report, Mila ‘effectively find themselves roughly halfway between their Champions League ties and the Scudetto race’, which has become decidedly more complicated following last night’s defeat to Lazio.
While Massimiliano Allegri’s side have racked up 60 points from 29 games, Napoli are now just one point behind, while Como are on 54, Juventus are on 53 and Roma on 51. Atalanta on 45 can just about be considered a candidate for fourth too.
Who fares better in terms of head-to-head matches? It’s important to remember that these matches are crucial for determining who would finish ahead in the standings if the teams were to finish on equal points.
Milan are in a good position having beaten Napoli in the first meeting and having taken four points from Roma and Como. They drew the first games against Juventus and Atalanta but have to play both at San Siro. Below is a grid of the results so far and who has the advantage.

What the fixtures say
Meanwhile, Radio Rossonera have put together a graphic showing the remaining nine games for the four teams that are primarily fighting for second, third and fourth, barring a late collapse from Inter o a late surge from Atalanta.
What stands out for the Rossoneri is the games away against Napoli then at home against Juventus and Atalanta back-to-back (either side of a trip to Sassuolo), which could have huge ramifications on how the picture shows up.
Napoli only have Milan to play in terms of a head-to-head game, while Como have Napoli, and Juventus will travel to Atalanta and the Rossoneri.

Allegri at least won most points against bigger clubs.
So his way of getting back is crucial to win Torino game and draw or win Napoli game.
Against Juventus he can do fight for spot.
Crucial for him is to win 5 kore gsmed where statistically Como, Roma and probably even Juventus would not be able to reach Milan with 75 points .
Thats why Allegri should have play differently against Lazio and go all in.
He had 2 imperatives in same game.
Now he is scared.
