Tuttosport: Milan focused on summer striker search but one target’s price is rising

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are committed to signing at least one striker in the summer transfer window rather than January but the price of one of the main targets is rising, a report claims.

As has been reported by Tuttosport (via Milan News), the Rossoneri are remaining very keen on signing Lois Openda, but he is a player with a price tag that is only travelling in one direction.

The Lens forward has been in superb form this season which led to Roberto Martinez taking him to the 2022 Qatar World Cup in his Belgium squad. He did not feature heavily though as Belgium were sent home after the group stage.

The 22-year-old has made 15 appearances in Ligue 1 so far this season and has scored seven times, having made the move in the summer from Club Brugge for €9.8 million.

Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara know that they will need to pay much more than that to acquire his services and it will need to wait until the summer.

    1. It is French league. You don’t know the basics…😂😂😂😂😂😂 Btw that is about the same as Giroud, in a weaker team…It is great to see how much you don’t know, you’re a clown…

  1. Dont know if is because Maldini is one ex-defender but most we are linked to a striker most times the x striker is injury prone, dont guarantee 25+ goals in one season or have scored like 5 goals in 30 matchs we talk we the team the x striker plays and they want like 25 m!

  2. if milan want a player that propably wont cost too much and is very young with room for further developement it might be an idea looking at the ivorian player David Datro Fofana from molde fk.
He will turn 20 years old in a couple of days and has amassed 37 games combined over various tournaments and has scored 21 goals and assisting 7 times this season.
He has previously been rumoured to chelsea and according to transfermarkt has a valuation of 7 mil and his contract will expire december 2024.

      1. I have no issues with us buying de ketelaere if its him you are throwing a jibe against, FAR from it.
He actually had a pretty good start but has been unlucky that his team mates has squandered the open chances he created, the last 1.5 months he was playing below what i was expecting from him though.
Still a great deal in my view and he cost 32 mil with bonuses later on. Im sure he will come out as a great transfer in the end.
Muani is a striker so even though de ketelaere can play upfont its not his preferred possition so to be fair i see no real reason to compare them.
He would have been a fine aquisition though but all clubs miss out on deals so nothing new under the sun there either.
