AC Milan’s interest in signing Breel Embolo from AS Monaco seems to be serious, with new contacts having taken place.
In a behind closed doors press conference given to journalists late last month, Igli Tare confirmed what the plan is for the No.9 role. The desire is to sign another striker, given the departures of Luka Jovic and Tammy Abraham, plus the imminent one of Francesco Camarda.

Being more specific, the sporting director spoke of a desire to sign a profile similar to Olivier Giroud in his penalty area instincts and his physicality, which narrows down the list a bit.
New talks over Embolo
According to Sky, Milan’s contacts for Breel Embolo continue. The Rossoneri have recently made moves to acquire the Swiss striker, who has only one year left on his contract with Monaco and could be acquired on ‘favourable terms’.

The player is ‘motivated’ by the idea and would like to test himself in a new challenge. Milan are working to determine if Embolo is the right candidate to come in and work alongside Santiago Gimenez, who was a €35m investment just a few months ago.
Embolo has worn the Monaco shirt since the summer of 2022, when he was purchased from Borussia Mönchengladbach. In the last three seasons in the Principality, he has made 89 appearances and scored 22 goals and 13 assists.

I know a lot of people will justifiably be critical of this, but for me if he can be a cheap backup option then I’d be good with that. Still not sure he’ll offer that much more than Jovic and probably less than Abraham, but those players are gone now and we have to do something. At least this would solidify Gimenez’s place.
Origi could do as much as Embolo I think and we already have him on our payroll. But you are right, we do need someone(s) and time is ticking.
I agree and I think we’re absolute fools for bombing Origi out of the squad and never giving him a pre season to prove himself (or earn a move somewhere). I don’t think he would ever have been prolific but could he have been a serviceable backup?
Or maybe there is something happening behind the scene that we don’t know of.
fifa 16 legend let’s see if he can get to a 99 rating at ac milan in real life to?
😭😭😭😂😂😂
8 goals but we could have try for Jonathan David that has 3-4 seasons with over 15 goals huh.
Also does he think he would start?
I guess it depends on what Allegri wants, he seems to really dislike the profile of Gimenez. I would say he is stubborn enough to play an average striker who was picked by him over Gimenez.
He signed for Juventus?
Tare: We want a striker capable of scoring 20+ goals a season.
Embolo: In the last three seasons in the Principality, I have made 89 appearances and scored 22 goals and 13 assists.
Tare: Perfect, that’s what I meant!
I do not see any ambition in this club.
BTW, Tare only want Swiss players (Xhaha, Jashari and embolo)
The only ambition is finishing top 4 and trying again next year. Then repeat.
Being realistic, that should be the ambition.
This season’s objective should be top 4. Being in the UCL next season will allow us to attract better players and not overpay wages when competing with others. Why overspend this summer chasing something very unlikely with the huge holes we have in the team; do we need to spend every penny available now instead of getting into a position to invest that better next year?
People who will be disappointed if we don’t win the title are just setting themselves up for failure and putting more pressure on the players than they need.
And none of them are really Swiss xD
Embolo does not score…
He has managed 20+ goals, just not in one season😏 not earth shattering and we want to compete this season. Boggles the mind. Gent has a striker with better numbers
Why the f*** did we let Jovic and Camarda leave if the ambition level is bang average players with ‘favourable terms’?
This!!! 100%
Jovic got 5M per season in Mexico. That is why. I doubt he’d stay for a third of that to be the 3rd choice striker…
We had an option on his contract to add a year – I believe he requested that the club didn’t take it up so we didn’t do the same as last summer, when we renewed and then tried to sell him a week later.
One goal in every 4 matches. In FRANCE! FFS. No where near good enough.
As I said many days ago, I would start to believe when our targets were some random names from French / Belgian league. So, here we go, lol.
We might as well just keep Colombo as the back up striker than spending any dime on this name.
Agree. We all know what Colombo could/would deliver and is free. How about NOT wasting 20-50M€ on a random striker from B-level league and hoping & praying he wouldn’t flop…?
Christ… again I hoped Milan would get at least decent players to upgrade a team. If new alternative is guy like Embolo, then I don’t really get why they just didn’t keep Jovic or buyout Abraham, they wouldn’t be worse than this, and at least Milan could spend some bigger money on defenders.
Abraham went for total of 15mil EUR to Turkey. Big guy (194cm), can play Giroud-style, already familiar with club.
Embolo??!🙆
Embolo não é jogador para o Milan. Se tivermos uma época negativa, o Embolo seria o primeiro a ser retirado. Vamos pelo Fabian(bologna) para fazer parceria ao Gimenes. No passado tivemos (Sheva/Inzagi/Gilardino). O Gilardino=fabian
Why, just why we didnt keep Jovic or Tammy, now we are going to spend 30-40 million on a striker on the same level as Jovic/Tammy. Squad management is beyond me in this club. The only hope is that we somehow land Vlahovic cheap. Otherwise we will spend 30-40 million and not improve the squad compared to last year.
We already have Origi.
lot of people asking why we didnt keep Jovic? – he was injured many times when we would have needed him, we dont need an unavailable backup thanks!
Embolo is not scoring much – true. but he is very physical and in a scenario where we need a goal close to the end of a match, its perfect to have such a player who can create chaos and room in the opponents box. Therefore i think he’d be a good solution, or someone old and proven (e.g. Chicharito)
we have got Colombo. I think is better to give chance Colombo. he can be a great substitute because he loves this club and even with less playing time, he’ll give his heart and soul to the club. we need exactly players like him. for me Colombo can be important part of the team on this season.
Again, these racists won’t look in Serie A. Piamonti is proven in Serie A, he’d score 10 goals a season and be good in rotation with Gimenez.
Have Milans owners been told the goals are going to be twice as big in Serie A next season? That’s the only logical explanation for the strikers we’re being linked with.
I’d rather we get Boniface or Mateta
