Tuttosport: Milan’s need for a defender now desperate – Milan’s options from Theate to Bremer

By Oliver Fisher -

The injury sustained by Fikayo Tomori has further complicated AC Milan’s situation and has made the signing of a new centre-back more urgent, a report claims.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews) Milan will be without Tomori for a month, so now the pressure is on Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to go out and sign the right defender as quickly as possible, whereas before they were acting without much of a rush.

Abdou Diallo is a target but this option has cooled because PSG want to sell the player on a permanent deal, while Manchester United’s Bailly remains on the list. After yesterday’s meeting involving the management there is also the possibility that a young centre-back arrives, with a big signing postponed until the summer.

Sven Botman of Lille remains on the wish list as does Bremer of Torino, and regarding the latter it could be that talks are intensified in the coming days given that there is dialogue over Pietro Pellegri.

There is another new name too in Arthur Theate who is currently on loan at Bologna from Oostenda, and the Milan management have asked for information about the 21-year-old.
