Archie Brown was one of AC Milan’s targets for the left-back spot, but according to a report, the Gent player is currently flying to Turkey to complete a move to Fenerbahce.

At the tail end of last week, rumours started circulating about a potential move to Milan for Brown, who has been on the club’s radar for quite some time. Late last night, Matteo Moretto stated that the Rossoneri were closing in on the left-back, battling it out with Fenerbahce.

The journalist also stated that Milan had everything in their own hands after reaching an agreement with Gent and the player, who was reportedly very keen on the move. However, the most latest reports suggest there won’t be any move to Italy.

Brown flies to Turkey

According to the Belgian newspaper Nieuwsblad, as cited by MilanEye, Brown is currently on a flight to Turkey. He will hold contract negotiations with Fenerbahce in Istanbul and the deal is expected to be completed this weekend.

While there was interest from Milan, as the newspaper confirms, it was never concrete enough for the Rossoneri to make a proper offer. As such, they will have to look elsewhere for Theo Hernandez’s successor.

Considering the evident quality difference between the two players, some fans might be happy that the Brown deal is about to fall through.

  1. “Considering the evident quality difference between the two players, some fans might be happy that the Brown deal is about to fall through.” Wait what? What do you think was going to happen? That we were going to get a top 5 left back? Nah bro. We’re getting some unknown “with potential”

  2. Not that I’m a fan of Brown, but this is classic Milan – wait for one target on a limited budget while the rest of your targets slip away.

Do the same thing over and over and expect a different result. Right on.

  3. Completely unrelated to our lb pursuit, but what am I missing.
What’s up with the Turkish league? They buy big and offer high wages.
Now whether they can ‘afford’ it over time, I don’t know.
But what’s happening there? Do they get more money than Serie A? Or just the big 2 owners are competing with each other?

    1. Their transfer fees tend to be a bit lower but instead they pay higher wages. They have become the league for players trying to find a way out of sticky situations

  4. This morning you all whined because he was coming, and tonight you are whining because he is not coming. Come on, pull yourself together. Otherwise, this player is not a target for Milan. He may have been considered as a backup option, but certainly not as a first option. I think they will go for Gutierrez from Girona

  5. Update from @nieuwsbladsport:

“”Milan officially approached Gent on Friday evening to sign Archie Brown. Brown left Gent’s training camp to fly to lstanbul and finalize the deal with Fenerbahce.
However with Milan’s interest becoming concrete, Brown has not boarded on the plane to Istanbul. Milan are convinced they can sign him, with Brown himself preferring the Rossoner.

    1. Fabrizio Romano @FabrizioRomano

Ardon Jashari has turned down an approach from Premier League club as his priority and desire remains AC Milan move.
Jashari, not even part of Club Brugge squad today as he insists for Milan move.

  6. Who the hell is archie brown? Now that he is gone, why not try johnny cash or jimmy labone or axel belose or mickey maloney?
RAT FURLANI IS THE GREATEST IDIOT ON EARTH.
PLEASE AL HILAL – PLEASE GALATASARAY – PLEASE TAKE HIM AND WE WILL PAY YOU €10 MILLION CASH.

  7. He’s english…so let’s think for a second and ask a common sense question. At this age, at this price , why is not a single Premier League or Championship League team submit an offer for him ?
