CM: Milan identify €25m Monaco youngster as ideal defensive reinforcement

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking to France once again in their search for a new central defender and have identified Monaco’s Benoit Badiashile as a target, a report claims.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, Milan are aware that they need another centre-back who can come and provide cover for Fikayo Tomori, one who has the same characteristics as the Englishman, therefore a player who is quick and knows how to defend in one-on-one situations.

Bremer from Torino is a player the management are very fond of but the Brazilian is wanted by Inter, Tottenham and other English clubs too and that is why a new target has emerged in Benoit Badiashile of Monaco and the French U21 national team.

Milan scouts have been on a mission to the Stade Louis II on several occasions during the course of this season to watch Badiashile in action and the reports they have sent back have always been more than positive.

The 20-year-old has a valuation of around €25million but also a contract expiring in 2024 which could be an ally. Milan know how to move well in the French market and in the coming weeks they will decide whether to start negotiations with Monaco immediately or postpone any speech until the end of the season.
