AC Milan will open negotiations in the next few days over a potential renewal for defender Simon Kjaer, according to a report.
When Kjaer arrived at the Rossoneri in January 2020 on a six-month loan from Sevilla, he did so as somewhat of an unknown quantity. He was and is a centre-back with a lot of experience in different leagues, but ultimately he was coming off the back of a half season at Atalanta in which he had barely played, leading some to question the signing.
Fast forward six months from there to summer 2020 and buying him outright from Sevilla became a no-brainer, but now – with his contract expiring at the end of the current campaign – some movement must occur regarding his contract.
Calciomercato.com writes that in the next few days the Milan management will have a direct meeting with Simon Kjaer’s agent. The target is to extend the contract of the Danish international by at least another season.
