PM: Milan targeting €20m playmaker with ‘class, power, experience and physicality’

By Oliver Fisher -

Throughout the summer AC Milan were linked with a move for Atalanta’s Ruslan Malinosvkyi, and their interest has reportedly been reignited.

According to a report from PianetaMilan, Milan know that having Daniel Maldini and Brahim Diaz as the sole interpreters of the playmaker role has not been enough for them this season and the former could leave on loan to play with more consistency next season in order to gain experience.

The latter meanwhile has struggled to find his very best form again post-Covid and he is bearing the weight of the No.10 role pretty much all on his own, so another natural attacking midfielder could be bought for next season.

The report claims that 28-year-old Atalanta star Ruslan Malinosvkyi is a target. He has a contract expiring in 2023 and could be sold for around €20m, with the management keen on him for his ‘class, power, experience and physicality’.

Of course Yacine Adli will arrive this summer once his loan at Bordeaux ends but that does not necessarily rule out the idea of another central attacking midfielder arriving.
