Tuttosport: Two targets fade for Milan as management may stick with current options

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have decided to postpone their pursuit of a new centre-back until the summer transfer window but a young defender could still arrive, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports that the Rossoneri management have in mind to sign a young talent to grow, just as has already happened in attack with Marko Lazetic. The main name they have in mind is Malick Thiaw of Schalke but they are asking for €10m despite their financial problems.

This is a figure considered too high by the Milan management so if the Gelsenkirchen club do not lower their demands it will not go through, because director Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara do not intend to offer more than €6m.

Maxime Estève of Montpellier (19) is the alternative, but in the last few hours this track too seems to have cooled down a lot. At this point, it is more likely that Milan will face the second part of the season with Tomori, Romagnoli, Kalulu and Gabbia as the centre-back options.
