La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are trying to build a team that can go further in the Champions League amid the backdrop of the potential change in ownership, and it will be up to the new owners to put the seal on the incoming operations.
Maldini and Massara are expected to stay regardless and they have been doing some groundwork ahead of the summer window, with Sven Botman the man identified to fill the void that the probable departure of captain Alessio Romagnoli will leave.
As a possible further reinforcement, there has been talk of Bologna’s Belgian centre-back Arthur Theate, while the plan is to also sign a new deputy to Theo Hernandez and Theate’s team-mate Aaron Hickey is a target in this regard.
