Tuttosport: Milan expected to resume talks over deal for 23-year-old in 2022

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s interest in signing Romain Faivre from Brest has not ended despite the failed summer pursuit, a report claims.

The Rossoneri tried right until the end to try and sign Faivre from the Ligue 1 side but they were ultimately unable to get a deal over the line. As reported by Tuttosport (via MilanLive), Milan are likely to try and sign the 23-year-old again in 2022, though it is not mentioned whether that means January or the summer.

The Rossoneri’s relationship with Brest deteriorated after the issues late in the window – especially given the player’s decision to try and force a move by not showing up for a game – but the dialogue could be resumed regardless.

Faivre has hinted that he wants to have an experience elsewhere as soon as possible, but the asking price remains €15m for the time being. Milan want to try to snatch the player’s approval as soon as possible and although Junior Messias was signed to fill the void, the name of Faivre remains among the most coveted.

  1. Pls sign this kid. 15M is a steal and we should sign him in January no questions asked. Messias is not the answer – certainly not long term and even short-term he showed up out of shape and hasn’t even played yet. Not a great start. He should have been fit and he was not. Salesmakers is solid but more of a player who comes on to protect a lead IMO. We desperately need a starting caliber RW that can score and break the lines. Faivre has it all and at 15M he is a bargain. He can also play CAM so he can spell Diaz as well.
