CM: Milan see €500k bid for midfielder rejected but Ireland U17 captain will join

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are set to bolster their Primavera with the signing of a Cork City defender but they could miss out on a Cesena midfielder, a report claims.

According to the latest from Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Serie C side Cesena are leaning towards saying no to the offer from the Milan management for their talented 17-year-old central midfielder Tommaso Berti.

The bid on the table was €150k for the loan deal plus an option to buy set at €350k, but that has not been enough to convince Cesena, while the player himself was not too convinced about the idea of leaving a team where he is getting consistent first team minutes and joining the Primavera at Milan.

Meanwhile, Cork City defender Cathal Heffernan is closing to joining the Rossoneri as per the journalist. The Sun in Ireland reported earlier in the week that the Irish 17 captain is on his way to Milan, having previously had trials at Atalanta and Roma and more recently with Bayer Leverkusen.
