If there were any concerns about AC Milan’s ability to spend this summer, they may be lessened by a report this morning.
In recent years, Milan have not been afraid to spend. Indeed, they have regularly topped spending charts in Serie A. However, they have come with the caveat of sacrifices being made on a fairly regular basis.

Whilst this is not necessarily a bad thing, the money hasn’t been spent well and this has an effect on the perception of the spending. For example, the Rossoneri have spent almost €200 million in the past five windows on strikers, including Goncalo Ramos.
It would be around €100m without the Portuguese, but committing to an average of €25m per striker for four consecutive windows is not a fault with finances, but rather who the money is being spent on.
Milan budget for 2026 summer
Now, Sky reports, via Lorenzo Lollo on X, that €250m is available to be spent this summer. Unfortunately, there are no offerings of whether this includes the Ramos signing and that of Gila, but you’d imagine that it would.
Even still, this would allow a €150m budget to be made available to Ruben Amorim. The other caveat is that we are unsure whether this includes (or is boosted) by expected sales, on top of the revenue which has come through.
In this mercato, that is still more than enough to make big signings and the roadmap can truly be laid out with Amorim now in Milano.
Priority after Ramos and Gila need to be
– another CB
– beast LWB fit enough to bomb up and down every game.
– backup lwb (Bart should be backup LCB)
– RAM (Zaniolo/Brahim/CDK)
For Rwb Ruben will try Musah and it may work alongside Salad.
What about a (new) MC (we need at least one good), backup AM(R)C and backup striker? Why would he try Musah when he have Alexis and Athekame? It’s better to look for a reinforcement on the right flank as well than to count on Yunus (for that position), he’s not an improvement.

Why are people obsessed with Bartesaghi being a center back? He started out as a left winger FFS. Just let him be and let him continue to gain experience as a LWB. He’s only been the starter for one season, and did decently well.

Jaja I think so because dude even said that trying musah alongside as rwb will work when he’s already been tried in that position with the horrible mentions of cdm,cm,cb,cam,rw,rm and he managed to fail in all of them. If it includes sales , then its relying on getting good fees for the likes of Leao / Tomori / RLC / Fofana / Chukwueze , which is easier said than done.

A bit of wishful thinking tbh. I’d like for us to have 250m too but reality is likely far from it or there has been grand assumptions made.
We’ve just posted a 25m loss last year. Unless Gerry injects his own money to cover that loss (likely he won’t), that money will need to come from somewhere. We also just spent about 75m on a player without a sale so far. So we’re down in the hole right now about 100m.
So how do we get an additional 150m? ???
Unless we sell our relatively higher quality players, I dont see how we’re getting that sort of transfer kitty.
Even if we forget about the 150 or 250 m for a second, we’re currently in a hole of 100m. With the new Financial Fair Play rules, we can’t be in the hole 60m over 3 years. So even if we front load the losses, we still need to technically cover 40m (100-60m). So we’re really banking on sales right now to cover our transfer campaigns. And it seems there might be a push to put in a strong transfer campaign with the hopes of getting UCL qualification for several years to come after missing out on that vital source of income the last few years (I guess the idea is to have that money pay for these transfers). This is quite ironic and such a waste of time, seeing as a certain someone who can’t be named wanted a similar strategy a few years ago but at a point when we already had a team capable of challenging for the Scudetto and one which was formidable in Europe. But here we are finally making an investment only to get back to those heights.
They probably estimate to sell players for 150 mil, so in reality we had 100 mil to net spend. See my post further down for the 5 players they probably estimate to get 150 mil for.

Also I’m not sure we’re getting 70m for Leao tbh. I think realistically 40, potentially 45-50 but I can’t see more than that. We’re not getting 20 for Chukwueze. 10-15 at best. Fofana probably max 25. The rest is fine.

Many would be coming to their 5th+ season, youth players would’ve become established, the defence and midfield would be well established with the main issue being a striker as Giroud and Ibra retired.
Since 21/22 Milan have signed 9 x strikers at a cost in transfer fees alone of over E100m and all have struggled.
They could’ve donated the money to charity and everyone would be better off:
– the club;
– the players at the club;
– the players who joined the club;
– the sport of football.
The only people who benefitted were the agents who were involved in those 9 x transfers for strikers, plus the 20-30 others (this is just since 21/22).
It’s an extreme example as clearly there were areas that needed to be improved and Kessie is a mercenary scum (who has destroyed his career in his pursuit of money) but it shows how many wholly unnecessary transfers occurred, and how each of those undermined a Scudetto winning squad, and distracted from the key issues.
All that squad needed was a replacement for Kessie (and eventually Bennacer and Krunic), an upgrade to RW (which could have been Pulisic), and a STRIKER.
With the money wasted on strikers alone Milan could’ve signed Harry Kane.
One signing. Problem solved.
Instead Milan went for 9 and still haven’t solved the problem.
