AC Milan have decided to accelerate for Massimiliano Allegri after news about Vincenzo Italiano staying at Bologna, reports claim.
Allegri has spent the last year away from the pitch after leaving Juventus following their Coppa Italia win last season. He knows Milan well of course, having been in charge of the Rossoneri from 2010 and 2014, winning a Scudetto and the Supercoppa Italiana.

Milan turn to Max
According to MilanNews, Milan have held talks with with Allegri’s entourage, both on Tuesday evening and on Wednesday morning. The idea of the Rossoneri – with Italiano close to renewing with Bologna – is to try and close an agreement with Max quickly.
With regards to a possible return, the main issue is the economic one (salary) as well as understanding what Napoli will do with Antonio Conte. If Conte were to remain with the champions, the chances of seeing Allegri at Milan would increase significantly.
According to MilanPress, there is no agreement between Napoli and Allegri, so Milan have sensed a chance. The offer that the directors are evaluating is a three-year deal at €5m net per season, with Igli Tare a big admirer.
Calciomercato.com are reporting the same, i.e. that Italiano is about to renew his contract with Bologna at the end of a week of negotiations and thus contacts with Allegri have been reopened. They add that he is waiting for a signal from Napoli, but will not go beyond Friday.
Finally, Di Marzio also report that Allegri is inclined to wait for Napoli until Friday (the day of the meeting between the Partenopei and Conte) and in the event of no decision he will consider himself free to take another job.

Not a fan of Allegri, but good thing we’re not getting italiano, I’m sure it would have flopped. Finished 9th and no European experience, never coached big players(egos)
Good. We need stability and we need compactness and organization in our play.
So there is no clear ideas on how they want the team to play. But at the end they are going for the Catenaccio style
For me it’s Conte as the first choice. With no European football Conte can easily build a team that can win the scudetto.
Second choice would be Allegri. He did the same in his first year at Milan but he is better in Europe than Conte.
Either coach would also mean that Milan will have to invest in better quality players unlike the past where they wasted money on average players.
Conte’s not on the table though, he’ll stay at Napoli or he’ll go to Juventus.
Allegri is solid defensively and he’s got a good record trusting in young players. Not the most exciting but not cheap and has an upside.
if Conte is so good why doesnt he have the balls to stay in Napoli to compete in Europe?
Do you realise that Juventus are also competing in Champions League next season?
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves please. Tare is a yes man. Coach wise we will get a yes man. Assistant coach wise we will get a yes man. Viera? Farioli? Poor season for sure. Then Elliot takes back the club after the season? Begs Maldini to come back and pick up the pieces. Press repeat. Press repeat
I’ve read from numerous sources that Tare’s been wanting to work with Allegri for years. This move makes sense on many levels.
At first I was intrigued by Italiano but his team finished below Milan in the league. He literally averaged less points per game than Conceicao 1.73 to 1.63
What a nightmare
Italiano is a way better coach than Allegri with the teams he has, can Allegri bring fiorentina to 2 conference league finals and win coppa italia with bologna after selling 2 best players calafori and zirkzee. They already qualify for europa league so they lose gas in the end. If bologna win last 3 games, bologna is above juventus. people cant see how good he is lol
