Two consecutive home defeats without scoring – first time since 2012

AC Milan registered their second consecutive defeat at San Siro last night, conceding the winner for Udinese in the second half of the game. As a report highlights, the Rossoneri are in a situation they haven’t been in since 2012.

It was a frustrating evening for the Milan fans, watching a disjointed and lacklustre team on the Ssn Siro turf. And no, we are not talking about Udinese who, by the way, were in the relegation zone prior to the game. Yesterday’s win was also their first of the season.

As highlighted by OptaPaolo (see MilanData tweet below), Milan have lost two consecutive home games in the league without scoring for the first time since September 2012. Max Allegri was in charge back then, achieving the same against Sampdoria and Atalanta.

Allegri was sacked by Milan a few months later and it remains to be seen if the same will happen to Pioli. PSG are up next and it will be tough for the Rossoneri to turn things around in that game, but a win would certainly do a lot of good.
