MN: Milan have two strategies for midfielder pursuit with Midtjylland star tempting

AC Milan have been left with a dilemma in their pursuit of a new central midfielder with one name standing out above all, a report claims.

Anto Vitiello reports in his latest column for MilanNews that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara both know that Milan will have to make a signing for the midfield department regardless of the fact Sandro Tonali’s injury is not as bad as initially feared.

The management are left with a choice to make: they will either go for a young player who can grow without pressure as part of the rotation, or they will wait until the end of the market to see if there is the opportunity to sign a more ready-made profile, with particular attention payed to the unwanted players at bid clubs.

The feeling is that the first option may well prevail, because 21-year-old midfielder Raphael Onyedika of FC Midtjylland is the concrete target. At 184cm tall and with defensive characteristics, the feeling is that he could be ideal as an alternative to Tonali, but there are other names that the scouting department have put forward.
