MN: Pioli banks on unpredictability and fluidity being Milan’s main weapon to beat Liverpool

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli will be hoping to use unpredictability as the main weapon of the attack against Liverpool tonight, a report claims.

Milan go into the game tonight knowing that they must beat a Liverpool side who are very strong with or without their main starters, with Jurgen Klopp set to rotate. The Reds know what to do on the pitch and what their way of playing is regardless of the line-up chosen by Klopp, and lots of fresh legs may actually be an added bonus for them.

MilanNews writes how Liverpool, with or without Salah and/or Mané will immediately try to impose their frenzied pace and pressing on the game so Milan might have to soak it up – like they did at Anfield – and wait for the right moments to spring a counter.

Pioli will have to do without the likes of Rebic and Leao who stood out at Anfield, but the unpredictability and positional fluidity of Brahim Diaz, Junior Messias and the wild card Rade Krunic could be an advantage.

Pioli will try not to make things easy for Klopp and his men from a tactical point of view, moving pieces on the chess board hoping for a checkmate, and then of course a favour from Portugal.
