Journalist claims Milan made unsuccessful swap bid to Flamengo involving Okafor

AC Milan offered a swap deal to Flamengo involving Noah Okafor, a journalist claims, but it was rejected by both the club and the player.

Okafor started the season with a bit of an unknown role. He was again touted as the deputy for Rafael Leao but also as a potential centre-forward option, and he scored an important goal in the first game against Torino.

Aside from a couple of assists, however, that’s all he achieved during the first half of the season and Milan thus decided to send him out on loan in the winter window to Napoli. It became apparent a few weeks ago though that they would not be using their option to buy.

Milan see swap bid rejected

The Rio de Janeiro-based journalist Pablo Oliveira tweeted: “Many clubs in Europe want the player Noah Okafor from Milan. He wants to play in Europe and in the Champions League.

“The player doesn’t want to come and play in South America. The Italian club tried a week ago to swap Okafor for full-back Wesley from Flamengo, who did not accept.”

Thus, Milan must once again figure out what to do with a returning loan player that probably isn’t good enough to stay but wants an ambitious move if they are to depart.

As a reminder, the likes of Yacine Adli, Tommaso Pobega, Ismael Bennacer and Lorenzo Colombo are among those who will come back to base.

    1. I don’t think so… Benny was good but he is now injury prone and Adli? If Modric come then he can be good deputy… he has 4G and 6A like attacking midfielder… yes now is good time to give him a chance. After first horrible season he has great second season in Serie A. it’s not Raijnders numbers but under Alegri I think he can be even better

  1. Most Europeans wouldn’t want to join a South American league and especially not at such a fairly young age as it will most likely be detrimental to their international careers so if the management actually suggested this then they are even more daft than I initially thought and its not like I held them in high regard to begin with.

  2. Silly idea to start with. What a waste of time and effort to even think Okafor will fall for an idea like that. Can our management be a bit more realistic with their mercato moves, no wonder teams amd players don’t take us seriously.

  3. Very good we have our eyes on him, he would be one of the best RB in the world in the future.

They just need to change the bargaining style €25-28m should close the deal.

    Or get Dodo.

  4. Of all our on-loan players, Adli is one player I like so much. Not for his onfield performance but for his great aura and being a great fan of this club.

There was even a time he gave up his number 7 for Morata even though he wasn’t expecting to be loaned out to Fiorentina

  5. No one wants to buy.
There have been reports that they have been looking for buyers since December and they even went to Saudi because of this.

Do you really think the big shots really want to come to Italy to invest?
Inter Milan has also been on this since 2020 or so.

If you come up with the money today, I can almost guarantee you he would sell to you so you can do better than him.
From that point on, you will understand football not just from a fan’s perspective, but harshly from a business perspective.

Berlusconi as a fan owner felt the burnt as he constantly spent more money into the club more than it generated, despite Italy being in a better position at that time and we were also winning trophies.

    You can imagine that.
