Super Six
As Gazzetta dello Sport write today, there are six starters targeted to start the season in Rossoneri, despite currently representing different colours. Even if the mercato is not open, the talks are beginning and ideas are flowing.
It starts in defence, where the Diavolo want to sign three starters: a left-back, a right-back and a central defender.
On the right, Marc Pubill’s name has emerged as a strong favourite, whilst Guela Doue also remains in the frame. Andrea Cambaiaso and Vanderson also have places on the shortlist, though their prices are high, maybe too high.
Giovanni Leoni leads the list for a central defender; the young Italian has what Milan hope for in a new addition. However, Mario Gila is also a possibility, especially with Igli Tare’s connections. At left-back, it seems North London is the hotspot, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Destiny Udogie are preferred. It is worth stating that the former is seen as an easier option.
Two midfielders are wanted after the signing of Luka Modric, and there is a clear preference for Granit Xhaka and Javi Guerra. Negotiations are underway in both cases, and it would take a lot for the club to look away now, you’d imagine.
Darwin Nunez, Dusan Vlahovic and Aleksandar Mitrovic are considered to lead the line it seems. What it seems, though, is that Massimiliano Allegri is certainly considering a dive into the market, but it will be after the Club World Cup.
Udogie is not an option, forget about him. He is worth around 50 mln on the market, far more than an Italian club can afford for a full-back.
I mean, that’s not happening unless we ship out Leao, Theo, Mike and a starting CB. We don’t need six new players, we need a few in the right places and for someone to coach the best out of the ones we have. Easier said than done and I won’t blame Max if he struggles.
I agree we don’t need 6. We already spent 35M on Santi and Allegri wants a new striker? Not happening and Cambiasso and Vanderson coming in little unlikely, I would say we should settle for De Cuyper and Vanderson, both decent defensively and Leoni is a solid option.
Vanderson is folly anyway, he’s going to Tottenham

It’s amazing that people are still crying about Kerkez. He was right to leave for playing time with “world class” Theo in front of him. If we’d sold Theo to play an as yet unproven Kerkez three seasons ago, instead of the other way around, people would have hammered ownership for selling a “world class” leftback for profit in favor of an unknown 20 year old. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
Kerkez was right to want to move, especially with the club idiotically signing Fodo Ballo-Toure to backup Theo instead.
But the club were wrong to sell him so cheap instead of loan him out.
I love this. People would believe what they choose to believe….
So seems italianisation is out the window, more foreigners…..

In midfield we’ll have 2 players with combined age of 73.

Just checking you’re talking about the Maldini that brought in 38yo Ibrahimovic and replaced him with 33yo Ground and only brought in one Italian starting player in his last few years?
I love the guy and he did a great job but this is literally us learning from and trying to copy his model.
Ibrahimović was an all-time-great and Giroud played with some of best EPL teams like Chelsea and Arsenal.
This is way different from Mitrović who was playing in the Jupiter Pro League and the Super liga Srbije and never made it to a good EPL team.
Fair, but someone like Kjaer, experienced player at a decent level. Admittedly, more of a model professional than Mitrovic has been known as.
The Mitrovic one I don’t think there’s anything true to anyway.
But the all time legend and experienced at top level, that’s exactly how I’d describe Modric and Xhaka.
