Tuttosport: Milan willing to accept €8m offer in order to offload unwanted winger

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan do not consider winger Samu Castillejo to be part of the plans for next season but are struggling to generate offers, a report claims.

Milan’s objective for the summer window is to bring players in who offer more guarantees from a goalscoring point of view, starting with Olivier Giroud but not ending there. The idea is to identify a right winger capable of beating a man with the dribble, creating numerical superiority and above all impacting concretely with goals and assists.

This has led to doubts about the future of Castillejo, who was always available for head coach Stefano Pioli when needed but failed to find any real rhythm or consistency in his performances last season barring one brief spell.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews),  several Spanish clubs have expressed their interest in signing the ex-Villarreal man over the last few months, but so far no concrete offers have arrived. Castillejo is not part of the plans, and that is why they would accept an offer of €8m for him.

  1. This is a real problem for Milan management: the difficulty to cash in (to sell the players who are not anymore part of the club’s plans). Hopefully, Maldini eventually will be successful in dropping these players. If they were good, they would have have offers…
