Among the various issues for AC Milan to tackle once they have a management in place is the return of several loan players.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, president Paolo Scaroni and interim CEO Massimo Calvelli are running the day-to-day business, but strictly on the bureaucratic side. Once there is a technical and/or sporting director in place, it will be time to think about the squad and those out on loan.

Three bought, seven back
Let’s start by saying that of the 10 players who spent last season away from Milanello, three will not be returning: Tommaso Pobega, Lorenzo Colombo and Alex Jimenez, whose buy-out clauses have become mandatory.
This opens the door for the other seven (some have not exercised their buy-out clause, others were only on a dry loan) to return. This small group contains a bit of everything, from big names to promising youngsters. The most likely scenario: most of them are destined to pack their bags again.
The most complex situation to manage is that of Ismael Bennacer, who simply can’t seem to find a new lease of life elsewhere. His loan spell at Marseille went badly, and so did his one at Dinamo Zagreb. The Algerian has never managed to find consistency due to constant injuries.
Two scenarios are plausible: since his contract expires in 2027, he’ll leave for the last time, or Milan will try to reach an agreement to terminate his contract. The latter isn’t an easy solution, given that the midfielder earns nearly €7.5m gross. It’s more likely that Milan will let him go for no transfer fee.
Then there’s Samuel Chukwueze. Halfway through the season, it seemed like Fulham were seriously interested in buying him, but then things changed for the worse. His fee was set at €26m, and unless Milan revise their demands, the Nigerian is destined to return.
Theoretically the former Villarreal man can leave permanently, but in his case it’s reasonable to place an asterisk: if a coach who plays a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 arrives, Samu could even be useful as a second choice.
Yunus Musah also returns to Milanello, after a spell at Atalanta that certainly went worse than expected. A €24m buy-out was never considered by Atalanta, but the American is unlikely to remain at Milan.
The same goes for Warren Bondo and Filippo Terracciano, who completed their loan spells with relegated Cremonese. Finally, the youth team players, namely Francesco Camarda and Kevin Zeroli. Their paths are still to be evaluated, also with an eye on the squad lists where they could be useful.
I’m quite sold on Glasner but my only concern is that I can see him giving Musah a chance.
Where? The dude uses 3-4-2-1. No way Musah takes one of the two CM roles over Rabiot, Fofana, Ricci and Jashari.
Not as a starter no, but he also likes engines and that’s just about all Musah has. No guarantees Rabiot will still be around come August.

I would love to give bennacer a final chance. Let him have a good preseason, if he remains injury free he would be great to have back. With him rabiot and Fofana we have our starting mid. Ricci & Jashari can provide competition.

What gave ppl that idea? He never did exceedingly well there. And my serious club is going to rely on a couple months form to purchase a player. Let alone the amount, which was extremely high imo, for such an average player.

Another average player who had potential 2 years ago but stagnated. Atalanta just needed him for numbers/backups. So basically we strengthened them, hindered his development and now comes back underdeveloped to hinder us. Great job Tare/Furlani
Its almost like giving massive contracts to players who are lazy and/or injury prone is a terrible idea… who wouldve guessed? Both benn and Leao shouldve been sold a while ago. Samu just clearly isn’t built for serie a and its best for both parties to go find another Villarreal like team for him. Musah was never good enough in any from and needs to be sold immediately. Terra im fine keeping as he actually seemed comfortable in a back 3 which is what glasnerwill likely use if signed, and he hilariously outscored every one of our #9s this year from center back💀🤦♂️he will be a backup for rotation and fill Italian quota with a low wage, so easy keep. Bondo never really got a chance on the field for us so im fine evaluating him for the summer and seeing if maybe he has a chance to be a squad option like terra, but won’t be sad if hes sold either, I feel like both options are fine. Camarda and Zeroli need to be given the same time Bartesaghi was to have a chance at slowly integrating into the squad. Bart proved that he can be a valuable asset when actually given time to get with the team and real consistent game experience. Those 2 could be the same so keep them ffs. Overall moving on Benn, samu, musah, and potentially Bondo will help free up money for a true #9 and a decent defender to lead the line next to pav and gabbia. Those are the 2 things we desperately need, and maybe a creative attacking midfielder if we can, like when Glasner had Eze at palace
