With just three games remaining of the season, Milan Women provided some entertainment for the home fans as they prevailed 5-3 against Fiorentina at Vismara.
The Rossonere are in the midst of the Scudetto play-offs, though they were certainly never in the race for the title, nor the European spots. As such, the end to the season has more so been about building confidence and collecting good results.
After the 3-1 win against Roma before the international break, Milan Women managed to clinch another win today as they won 5-3 (!) at Vismare. Evelyin Ijeh bagged a brace in the first half, scoring the first two goals, while Giorgia Arrigoni, Monica Renzotti and Emma Koivista also got on the scoresheet.
On a negative note, however, the goals conceded – all scored by Fiorentina’s Madele Janogy – were all avoidable as told by our correspondent Luca Maninetti. In other words, it could have been a much better win for the Rossonere, even if it doesn’t matter too much at this point.
Games against Juventus, Inter and Roma now await Milan Women before the season will officially come to an end. It’s certainly true that they have improved a lot in the second half of the season, having struggled to get going at the start.
Peccato solo quei tre gol subiti evitabili. Gigantesca prestazione di Cernoia e Mascarello 🔴⚫️ pic.twitter.com/SATtHJIpqq

If we can continue in this vein, we could be dark horses for next year’s Scudetto.
