MN: Three Milan Women players named in Italy’s European Championship squad

Three AC Milan Women players have been named in the Italy squad for the upcoming European Championships in England.

As has been reported by Milan News, Milena Bertolini announced her 23-player squad for the tournament which kicks off on July 6 and will run until July 31.

The squad will fly to Manchester on July 4. 27 players have been training at Castel di Sangro in preparation for the tournament but only 23 will be on the flight to England.

Three of Maurizio Ganz’s Milan players have made the cut and they are Laura Giuliani, Valentina Bergamaschi in the defence, and Martina Piemonte in the attacking group.

The Azzurre are in a tough group for the tournament as they will face France in Rotherham on July 10, Iceland at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium on July 14, and Belgium at the same venue on July 18.

The top two in each group will progress to the next stage of the tournament.
