Alia Guagni and Christy Grimshaw were named to the FIGC’s Team of The Week for Matchday 14. Grimshaw made the list for creating the most opportunities for her teammates against Lazio (three) and engaging in the most duels during that game (16).

Guagni made the list for not only her excellent performances but for making eight crosses in open play during this season. Only one other player, Federica Cafferata of Fiorentina, has made more successful crosses than Alia. Alia was also named the women’s footballer of the month by the AIC.

Four Milan players were summoned by coach Milena Bertolini to play for Italy in the Algarve Cup. The players are Alia Guagni, Laura Giuliani, Valentina Bergamaschi, and Martina Piemonte. Valentina Giacinti, who is on loan to Fiorentina, was also summoned to play for the team.

Christy Grimshaw has been summoned by Scotland to play for the team in the 2022 Pinatar Cup. Guðný Árnadóttir is also expected to be summoned by Iceland to play in the She Believes Cup. Sara Thrige will also be called up to play for Denmark in the Algarve Cup. Their first match of the tournament will be on February 16th, and Denmark will face Italy on that date.

AC Milan will play Sampdoria in the second leg of their quarterfinal qualifier in the Coppa Italia. The game will be played this Saturday at the Vismara and Milan has a 4-1 advantage from the first match. Kickoff time is slated for 14:30 CET.
