Sky: Milan at work ahead of the summer – the latest on Romagnoli, Botman and Origi

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are planning their squad in view of the 2022-23 season and it appears they are gearing up for a change in the centre-back department.

Manuele Baiocchini spoke on Sky (via MilanNews) about the situation surrounding Alessio Romagnoli, the club captain whose contract will expire at the end of the season. He confirms that the last contact between the Milan management and his agent Mino Raiola dates back to a long time ago, so his contract is ‘not close to being renewed’.

Baiocchini adds that Milan believe Sven Botman of Lille would replace him in ‘the best possible way’ because he is younger and he already has ample quality as demonstrated in his time with the Ligue 1 club.

There will also be a signing for the attack where Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are looking to ‘fine-tune’ the Divock Origi operation in the coming days and weeks, with the Liverpool forward seen as a reinforcement of quality.
