Indeed, the midfielder has a European team release clause in his deal – which is a discount from the Premier League clause – and so the parameters could be favourable for Milan.
Yet no movement is expected until later, with the Portuguese wanting to assess the squad and its needs in person.

Today, A Bola has confirmed that no movement has been made, as MilanNews relays. As of right now, neither Sporting nor the player himself have heard from the Rossoneri, let alone has an offer been made.
Whilst he knows that he can leave this summer for half of his release clause, the mercato is not really in motion yet.
The other side of the story is that the Rossoneri do not want to spend so much on the midfielder after a big purchase in the position last summer. After all, they have other priorities in the mercato.
It would help if you stated the release clause fee, not everyone knows it is set at 80 million euros…

Here’s my thinking on who Milan should try to get the summer. Because Leao wants to be gone sell him to Chelsea and either do a swap deal for Quenda or use that money to buy Maxi Araújo. Thats the lwb. Then Puli to his natural side as a left cam and buy Konstantinos Karetsas for the right cam. In a dreamworld you get one of Kang-In Lee or Rodrigo Mora, but those are a bit more unrealistic. I think u can keep 🥗for the rwb. I think you try and get a loan deal for Bergvall but if you can’t El Khannouss is a decent alternative. I also just don’t see cm as a massive need considering Jashari could turn it around this season. For the ball playing centre back, ideally you get Inacio tho I’m not sure Sporting would be willing to sell twice. Lastly this may be a hot take I’m trusting Camarada/ Fulkrug. For the past couple seasons, Milan has shown a complete inability to buy strikers. Considering we don’t really have much to lose I’d rather just trust what we have and develop our own talent then waste money on another mid $30-$40 million euro st. Italian national team especially needs people to actually take a chance on young players if we want this team to get better so there’s also that.
I don’t expect it to happen but as a Dane I wouldn’t oppose seeing him in AC Milan. He is aggressive, sometimes a bit too much but with some small adjustments I could see him become really great for us. Also the captain for Sporting so we would get a leader and we need exactly that sort of characters at present.
Unlikely to happen though from my perspective.
