Yet another new target has emerged in AC Milan’s search for an attacking midfielder: Alvyn Sanches of Young Boys.
There has been a lot of buzz surrounding the potential sale of Rafael Leao in the past 24 hours. First it was reported that Aston Villa had made an offer for him, then Spurs were mentioned as suitors, in addition to Galatasaray’s still-standing interest.

While there appears to be nothing advanced regarding Leao’s departure, it is known that Milan intend to explore the signing of a new playmaker, even if Alphadjo Cisse provided some very encouraging signs on Sunday.
Sanches on the list
According to Sky, the latest name to enter the frame is Alvyn Sanchez of Young Boys. The player is ‘highly regarded by Milan’s scouting and coaching staff’ as per the report, and he fits the bill because he is left-footed too.
The source goes on to mention that Milan could still press ahead with his signing in the winter transfer window if the situation involving Leao does not unlock.
In the first four games of the Swiss league season so far, he has scored two goals and provided two assists. Last season, the 23-year-old raced up 10 goals and four assists in 28 league games, which was an impressive return.
Gianluca Di Marzio meanwhile adds: “The Swiss is, in fact, on the Portuguese coach’s and AC Milan’s list and is being seriously evaluated to strengthen that position, while waiting to see what Rafa Leao’s future holds. He has also played as a midfielder in the past and has started the season very well.”
Milan have of course done recent business with BSC Young Boys, having signed Zachary Athekame from them one year ago.
