CM: Milan scouring South American market for a new striker – the four targets considered

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s pursuit of a new centre-forward has begun and the management have their eyes on four South American talents, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by Calciomercato.com, on Friday there will be a meeting between the Rossoneri management and agent Edgardo Lasalvia, who controls the interests of several interesting clients and above all two centre-forwards who are in Milan’s sights.

Lasalvia works for Equipo Talent Management Associates and is Benfica striker Darwin Nunez’s agent but also Agustin Alvarez’s representative. The former has been on Milan’s wish list for some time but has a high asking price while the latter is a fellow Uruguayan striker who is 20 years old and plays for Penarol.

Pietro Pellegri could leave in January with Torino and Genoa interested, which means the Rossoneri are on the lookout for a new striker and they are monitoring the South American market, with a scout stationed in South America to feed information back to Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara.

There are two other strikers that Milan are also interested in as well as Nunez and Alvarez – the latter of whom has 23 goals in 38 games – and those are Julian Alvarez of River Plate plus Yuri Alberto of Internacional.

The most appreciated profile is undoubtedly Agustin Alvarez, who is described as ‘a mix between Suarez and Cavani, a maneuvering forward, mobile but with a great nose for goals’. There is still no real negotiation but something could begin on Friday.
