AC Milan are not putting all of their eggs in the basket labelled Sven Botman and they have alternative targets in mind, a report has confirmed.
The name of Botman has been circulating for some time, but La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) write how the Rossoneri might struggle to find a meeting point with Lille who are at the moment standing firm on their demands of €30-35m, despite the Dutchman having already given his approval to the move.
That is why Nikola Milenkovic of Fiorentina is still being considered as a potential alternative, a player that Stefano Pioli has worked with before during his time at La Viola and therefore he knows well.
The Serb’s contract will expire in 2023 and – just like Dusan Vlahovic – Milenkovic may decide not to renew in order to force a move to a club more ready to compete for trophies. Milan are closely following the situation and at the moment Fiorentina want €20m to sell.
Milenkovic is a good defender, really tall (an element we don’t have in abundance), knows the league, and is still young enough to get better. At 20m this may be a better option than Botman. Given our budget the 10-15m saved could go to helping reinforce another area. I would rather strengthen 3-4 positions overall than get 1-2 slightly better players than the 3-4 that would otherwise come in.
Botman have experience playing on CL thats make him number one target for management , but still they need plan B incase Newcastle offered botman huge salary and botman choose Newcastle. Milenkovic are good too but i prefer bremer as alternative if AC Milan failed to get botman
Botman is too slow and there’s no need to spend so much on a back-up – why would anyone get in ahead of Kulalu? Given the rapid progress he’s made, it would be foolish to sign someone for starting CB. The money is needed in MF.
