GdS: Minor annoyance turns out to be more serious for Ibrahimovic – when he should return

After the euphoria of winning the derby preparations are underway for the game against Lazio in midweek, but it seems Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s condition remains a worry.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Ibrahimovic also trained separately yesterday in the gym as he is always struggling with the Achilles tendon problem sustained more than two weeks ago in the league match against Juventus, and the issue that seemed to be a minor annoyance is turning out to be more serious than expected.

The Swede’s return to the field is moving further and further away, and the striker will almost certainly not be called up for the match against Lazio in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday night, and the game at home against Sampdoria is also at serious risk too.

His condition will be evaluated day after day, in the hope that the inflammation in the tendon will be eliminated quickly, but at the moment it is difficult to think that he will play in either of the next two games so the target shifts to Salernitana at home on February 19.
