Tuttosport: Mirante could remain at Milan despite not making an appearance

By Oliver Fisher -

Antonio Mirante could stay at AC Milan beyond the end of the current season despite the fact he is yet to make his debut for the club, a report claims.

Mirante arrived at Milan during the goalkeeping emergency that the Rossoneri experienced between October and November when Mike Maignan has his wrist problem that required surgery meaning Ciprian Tatarusanu was the new No.1 and Alessandro Plizzari being out on loan meant there was no suitable back-up.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Mirante may decide he wants to stay another year despite the fact he has had to settle for a role as the third goalkeeper since Maignan’s return from injury and is yet to make an appearance.

Having the Italian goalkeeper is good for the UEFA squad list given the need for home-grown players and his experience is also valuable, so he could wear the Rossoneri again next season.
