AC Milan could win their first trophy of the Gerry Cardinale era on Monday, but the owner will not be in Riyadh for the fixture, which is not uncommon for him.
The Cardinale era has yet to take off, and there have often been gripes with the way things have gone under the American businessman. Not only are Milan trophyless, but results on the pitch have seemed secondary to the numbers off of it.
Frustrations have risen for supporters, and in recent weeks there have been numerous protests against Cardinale inside stadia, and outside – which we saw for the 125th-anniversary event.
It is not a one-way thing though, and reports have suggested that the owner has grown frustrated at the recent protests, especially after extending his vendor loan on the club – which he had hoped would strengthen his situation.
In the lead-up to the tournament, it was suggested that the owner is desperate for a first trophy, and with the Diavolo in the final of the Supercoppa Italiana, it is a possibility that 2025 could be the start of a new era for the club, especially with the appointment of Sergio Conceicao.
However, the owner will not be present to watch things unfold, as Milan News report. The American has ‘been missing since November’ with his last game coming against Madrid in the Champions League, and he will not be in Riyadh to see any possible success against Inter.
Geoffrey Moncada, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Giorgio Furlani will, therefore, represent the club’s management, as the report cites from Sportmediaset.
He’s a donkey
It almost sounds like this is supposed to be bad news.
He can’t be bothered to attend our 125 year anniversary so of course he won’t show up tomorrow. We just an asset to him that is all. Nothing more.
But at least we have Ibra – his puppet – oops I mean his proxy!! LOL. Have some self respect Zlatan and leave – Embarassing – and take Sarcroni with you
Clown with wet pampers….
Cardinale has one major issue, he is arrogant and ignorant, he thinks he knows it all, first of all , him comparing Berlusconi and Steinbrenner was an insult, Berlusconi was a far bigger personality than Steinbrenner, secondly saying Milan only won was because of money, yes Berlusconi bought great players, but he knew how to build the team and hire Good coaches, he built a dynasty, AC Milan is far bigger than the Yankees.
Him not been in Milan for the 125th anniversary was a mistake, and him not been in Saudi Arabia to show himself, meet and greet with real money is a disgrace, the middle east is where he should concentrate the most, but he is a know all.
Missing since Day 1.
This trophy is NOT actually a “trophy” for Big teams, just for the name or title. The top teams take the opportunity to use the bench to play these matches…
Milan used to be least concerned about this “trophy”
Hopefully he is considering selling the club.
Another post designed to get supporters riled up.
When Cardinale said he doesn’t know how many times Milan won CL, that’s the sign that he doesn’t care about Milan.
But but but… How could we win a trophy without him??? He is crucial to Milan’s success. 🙂
Wow. Thanks Gerry for the trophy. You’re the best owner so far we’ve had this year!
