ML: Giroud eager to break goal drought tonight amid Ibrahimovic’s return

By Isak Möller -

Olivier Giroud is yet to score a goal away from home for AC Milan despite finding the back of the net ten times in all competitions. He will be eager to break this drought tonight as the Rossoneri will face Napoli.

In addition to the goal drought away from home, he hasn’t scored in the last three games. As highlighted by MilanLive, the hard work is always there but there haven’t been any rewards for Giroud as of late.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is back in the squad and that is a further incentive for Giroud to break his drought, seeing as he wants to keep his starting spot. It’s clear that the brace against Inter may have distorted things a bit, as more was expected from him in the last three games.

Tonight is a huge game for Milan, with first place up for grabs, and they will need Giroud in good form to have a good chance. The away drought is bound to break soon, although he technically scored ‘away’ against Inter. But in any case, a goal away from San Siro is still missing.
