The Derby Della Madonnina, between Milan and Inter, is one of the biggest derbies in the world and it’s always sold out. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the Rossoneri had to get creative with regards to this.
As fans aren’t allowed in the stadiums, Milan decided to release and sell virtual tickets to support Fondazione Milan. Each ticket costs 10 euros and the buyers have the chance to win a range of different prizes as a thank you.
According to MilanLive, the Rossoneri have sold more than 25K tickets for the game, with buyers from 75 different countries. These, of course, are great numbers and it just goes to show how the passion of football can be used to support those in need.
In addition to the high sales numbers, this has also been great exposure for Milan in the media and it’s safe to say that the initiative was a huge success. Hopefully, they will come away with the three points on Sunday afternoon.
