ML: Milan and Roma considering swapping redundant fullbacks

By Nikita Fesyukov -

Ricardo Rodriguez left AC Milan in the January transfer market and joined PSV Eindhoven on loan. However, he is unlikely to be redeemed by the Dutch club, mainly due to the poor economic situation connected to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Thus, the Swiss fullback is ready to return to Milan, but not permanently. The player’s contract with the Rossoneri expires in June 2021 and his future most definitely lies elsewhere, also considering the dominant position of Theo Hernandez in the team.

As reported by Milanlive.it, Rodriguez could be an option for Roma, who will be seeking a replacement for the ageing Kolarov and would like to focus on the reliability of the Swiss international.

However, the Giallorossi have too many right-backs of which many are redundant like Alessandro Florenzi, who will return from his loan spell at Valencia once the season is over. His stay in the capital is unlikely and thus, the Italian could be offered to Milan in a potential swap deal with Rodriguez.

For now, it is just a suggestion but the upcoming transfer market will likely consist of many swap deals, which is why this idea could turn into more than an idea throughout the market session.
