ML: Milan were offered chance to sign Chelsea striker but deemed operation too expensive

By Oliver Fisher -

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham could soon end up in Serie A months after he was offered to AC Milan, according to a report.

MilanLive reports that the Blues are ready to put Abraham on the market given that they seem to be closing in on a deal for Romelu Lukaku and need to both free up funds but also spots in the squad.

The interesting background is that the English striker was also proposed to Milan a few months ago, before the Rossoneri accelerated for another Chelsea man, namely Olivier Giroud. Some intermediaries had proposed Abraham, and Paolo Maldini was interested but deemed the operation too costly.

Atalanta are now on his trail and would move for Abraham if Duvan Zapata were to join Inter, as the Nerazzurri are viewing him as a potential replacement for Lukaku should he join Chelsea. It is an interested transfer triangle therefore, and one to follow.
