ML: Roma star emerges as option to replace Calhanoglu – €25-30m price tag with swap possible

It is now no secret that AC Milan are in the market for a playmaker to replace Hakan Calhanoglu, and one target could come from Rome.

According to MilanLive, Milan could decide to try and land Lorenzo Pellegrini from Roma as the man to replace the Turkey international. While he is not a classic attacking midfielder, he has shown in his career that he can play there, even amassing 11 goals and 9 assists in 47 games played last season.

Pellegrini has a contract expiring in June 2022 and while he has always said he is happy in Rome, a signature has not yet arrived for his renewal. Without putting pen to paper and extending his stay with the Giallorossi, a sale could happen in the coming weeks to avoid losing him for free.

Pellegrini has been linked with Milan in the past and is still on the notebooks of the management, with a price tag of around €25-40m but a swap deal possible too. Leao, for example, could move to the capital as his agent Jorge Mendes looks for options.
