ML: Spurs willing to pay €20m+ for Milan forward with January deal possible

Noah Okafor has found himself in a strange position regarding his role within the AC Milan squad, and Spurs are reportedly looking at a January move for him.

Okafor signed from Red Bull Salzburg last year and he was limited to mostly appearances off the bench under Stefano Pioli but he seized his chances well, scoring six goals in Serie A to earn the ‘super sub’ tag.

During the summer transfer window there were suggestions that he might head to Roma as part of the deal that would see Tammy Abraham come the other way (in the end Alexis Saelemaekers was the counterpart), while Okafor netted a 95th-minute equaliser in round one against Torino.

That led the new head coach Paulo Fonseca to start him over Luka Jovic against Parma but again he struggled to get into the game from the first minute. Now, after Abraham’s arrival, he risks being the third-choice striker and the back-up left winger at best.

Not only that, but Okafor did not play a minute at the 2024 European Championship with their coach citing a lack of playing time with Milan as the main reason, something that seems to have created a rift between the two.

According to MilanLive, all of the above could lead to the 24-year-old leaving the Rossoneri as early as January and Tottenham are on his trail, having started looking for attacking players to give to Ange Postecoglou in the winter.

Spurs have said they are willing to offer €20m plus various bonuses tied to certain personal and team objectives and the deal has ‘chances of coming to fruition’. Okafor is a reserve in Fonseca’s eyes, especially with the imminent return of Morata.

Given that Milan paid just €14m to sign the Swiss forward from Salzburg, they would generate a capital gain and also proceeds to use for reinforcement.

  1. Where are they going to find a better player for 20M€ as it seems to be the limit? And if they spend almost than on something as horrible as Emerson Royal, we are sooooo f’ed. Game over. GTFO, Moncada!

    1. I would sell him because we don’t need to replace him. I don’t even know why Milan signed him because Pulisic is better on both wings. So for me Okafor was a USELESS and unnecessary signing.

Then next summer Milan can sell RLC and Chukwueze.

Okafor is a 2nd striker. Both Okafor and Jovic doesn’t fit in Milan style of play and formation. These 2 are better in teams that play with 2 strikers. So these players should be sold as soon as possible.

  2. He had a chance to show what he could do from the start and failed to take it. That’s why Abraham was signed. €20 million is a great deal. I hope management have learned from being too greedy for Thiaw and accept Spurs offer, if they make an offer.
