ML: Three deals touted as Milan-Atletico axis heats up – €40m winger and €20m defender involved

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could be set for a hot market axis with LaLiga champions Atletico Madrid this summer, according to a report.

MilanLive writes that there are three deals that could take place between Milan and Atletico when the window reopens, starting with captain Alessio Romagnoli whose future at Milan ‘hangs by a thread’. In the coming weeks there will be a meeting with his agent Mino Raiola to see if his contract – expiring in 2022 – can be extended, but the signs are not good as the Rossoneri do not want to raise his current €3.5m net per season salary, with Raiola wanting €6m.

Milan are waiting for concrete offers and a fee of €20-25m would be enough, and Los Colchoneros have long been monitoring the 26-year-old especially given Stefan Savic and José Maria Gimenez could leave.

Then, Atletico Madrid have enquired also about Samu Castillejo. The Spaniard’s name is on the list of players who can leave as well as the captain’s after a sub-par season. Paolo Maldini is a big fan meanwhile of Angel Correa who could come in to replace him, even if the Argentine’s valuation is high (around €40m).

During the season Correa scored 9 goals and added 11 assists, and in recent days he has confirmed previous interest from Milan. He could be a perfect signing for Pioli, who could use him as a No.10 and as a right winger.

  1. That’s good if Atletico want an exchange without compensation. I hope that Milan has an idea how to fill the gaps with the departure of more and more players from Milan due to lack of money in the coffers and because ELIOT does not want to pay players more than 3.5 million. This will result in an increasing number of player departures. At the same time, cheap players like Meite, Krunic are coming and that is the FUTURE and we will unfortunately see bad football in Milan.

  2. Is not about Milan playing bad football..d period of overpaying players is far gone..what has been the contribution of romagnoli that mino wants him to earn 6mil.As important as kessie is,how much is his salary. Covid affected so many things and we cant spend anyhow..Madrid and barca are example of teams that spend anyhow and now facing d debt now..

  3. if Milan can send Castillejo and Romagnoli to Atletico and get Correa, that’s amazing business, cause Correa to me is not worth 40 million, but getting rid of Castillejo, that’s worth 50 million, so, im all in for that!

  4. As for Romanioli Rajola wants 6m for what
For poor defending. You remember how easy chiesa bit him or a shame. Big player. I never liked him. And Doramuna. They never stepped up. Kessi Calabria Salamekar those are guys who stepped up. For low life like Romanioli or Doramuna or Turkish guy. Please just go.
Is not. About money is about characters
    They don’t have
